On The Sonar : The Travelling Band

The Travelling Band are a 5-piece folk-crunk band hailing from Manchester, England. Third album ‘Screaming for something’ was released in late May this year under record label Sideways Saloon.

It’s unfortunate when trying to gather palatable influences when currently the wheel of fortune that is folk music lands on either the musings of Laura Marling or Mumford & Sons but don’t dismiss The Travelling Band firmly on that synopsis, They flow nicely along with soothing vocals that harmonise gently and are partnered by various other instruments. Championed by Sir Paul McCartney they Sight likeliness from Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and Of monster and men with an individual take on the genre it is something to behold.

Sonar track ‘Sundial’ is taken from there most recent release which is available via Itunes and you can also find them at Eastleigh Festival this coming weekend (9th July).
